Gov Abel Moldonado declared San Bruno Ca to be in a state of emergency after a 6 alarm fire in the city Sept 9 2010 starting at 6pm.A rumbling roaring sound was the begining of the gas main explosion that erupted into a 6 alarm fire ,creating a 60 ft wall of flames and a huge crator, the fire quickly spread to 53 homes via the gas line that was not able to be turned off for some time, and water main also broke forcing fire fighters to shuttle in water to put ou the fires,helicopter and airplanes also dropped fire retardant.....
