This week we take a look at some of the top strange and funkiest animal images uploaded to ShoutWire, with favorite five featured. That odd looking penis-fish still has us asking questions.

5. Vampire Sea Spiders From Antarctica
When Zero first mentioned hearing about a Vampire Sea Spider from the cold, lonely grips of Antarctica, I called bullocks. Surely, such an animal that was rumored to suck its prey dry had to be a Hollywood legend or mean old woman on her 4th husband.
As it turns out, they are a real and have scientists totally baffled. Some these ’spiders’ manage to even get a leg span of 70-centimeters, giving a resemblance closer to a wiry gold-digger and divorce lawyer mixed into one.
4. The Naked Mole Rat
This is best summed up with a quote from Mixxie, who recommended this one:
“The naked mole rat (Heterocephalus glaber), also known as the sand puppy, or desert mole rat, is a burrowing rodent native to parts of East Africa and the only species currently classified in genus Heterocephalus. It is notable for its eusocial lifestyle, nearly unique among mammals, and for a highly unusual set of physical traits that enables it to thrive in a harsh, underground environment; including a lack of pain sensation in its skin, and a nearly cold-blooded metabolism.
So not only is it cold, lacks pain sensation AND has an ‘unusual set of physical traits’ it’s also nearly blind - so yes that girl you slept with when you were drunk was indeed a descendant of the Naked Mole Rat.
And worst of all, it looks like a naked penis with teeth - and not just that, it even has the sparse pubic hairs… Yep.” It has a “friend” too.
3. Pookie, The Most Sinister Cat On Earth
The Egyptians were known for their respect and reverence for cats. Apparently this feline saw the documentary and now considers himself the Evil god of Freeballing.
2. The Human Bot Fly Larvae
By all rights, this should probably be number one on the list. It is definitely sinister looking, but its looks are beautiful compared to the atrocities it commits on mankind.
A poor chap named Mark found this out the hard way after a trip to Costa Rica. One of these bad boys managed to cozy up IN HIS SCROTUM. Not cool, not cool. You can catch that full botfly horror story here.
This animal is so rotten we decided to even include a video on this one. Beware, it’s not for the squeemish.
1. Sam, The Eternal Ugliest Dog On Earth
Called the “Grim Reaper of the Animal World” by locals, Sam was the 3 time champion of being the world’s ugliest dog. Legend holds that if a man spites his woman one too many times, this makeup-less fate shall be his eternal morning wake up call for years to come.
Though Sam passed away a little over a year ago, his owner keeps an active site up for the crown champion with various pictures of the canine.
