Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have wed. The wedding was not a big affair. All told, only 30 guests attended.

According to E! Online, the wedding happened at the $29 million home that DeGeneres and DeRossi share on Saturday evening at around 6:30 p.m. PT.

Portia de Rossi and DeGeneres have been an item since 2004. They haven’t been able to get married in California, which didn’t legally sanction same sex marriages until May of this year.

Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres are thought to be the highest profile example of a couple married under the new California statute.

DeGeneres expressed her desire to wed de Rossi in a recent interview.

“I can’t wait to be married. I feel like it is long overdue. And I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous like we all don’t have the same rights,” she said.

And now she has. Congrats to the Honeymooners!
