Hiker Jessica Bruinsma is counting her lucky stars and cups in a very interesting story where her underwear saved her life.

A few days ago, 24-year-old Jessica Bruinsma set out for a hike in the Bavarian Alps. As fate had it for Bruinsma that day, Jessica managed to get lost in the Alps during her hike. While trying to find her way back to path, Bruinsma plummeted 16 feet and down onto a rocky overhang. Her life literally was suspended in the balance.

After she was reported missing, rescue workers immediately began scouring the mountains near Germany. Being in her precarious and odd position, Jessica was not found by workers and folks started to lose hope. Fortunately, Bruinsma is smart and resourceful.

“She’s a very smart girl, and she acted very resourcefully”, police officials told the Associated Press.

Seeing some nearby lumberjacks, Bruinsma delicately removed her bra –so as not to lose balance– and attached it to a supply line she had fallen upon. Her plan worked, as a few hours later her ‘beacon’ reached the workers and they astutely put 2+2 together. She was rescued by helicopter and you know her family is going to spam her with love and hugs. Good on Jessica and especially the workers in this case that could have been very tragic.
